Daníel performs songs of Leonard Cohen

Daníel Hjálmtýsson//Dec 11

Ever since the passing of the great Leonard Cohen, Daníel has sat down in various positions (pun intended) in various Icelandic venues to perform songs of Leonard Cohen in honour and memory of one of his greatest influences.

As Covid-19 keeps hitting the industry, making big shows a big problem, Daníel decided that this advent would be the perfect time to host a series of intimate shows, with a very strict capacity of 50 people in a small church, in a small town called Fáskrúðsfjörður. A small fishing village on the East fjords of Iceland that used to host the French army and it´s hospital in WWII with a rough population of 600.

It has now been 5 years since the passing of the Canadian legend and almost 5 years of memorial tributes by Daníel, with many citing Daníel as the perfect artist to cover the late great.

The shows take place on December 11th and December 18th with Jóna Særún as special guest.

Daníel is then expected back in Reykjavik to keep working on the debut LP at the end of December with EU tour dates for 2022 on the writing board as well.

Look out for brand new DH T-shirts dropping at the end of December, available for pre-order through our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Much love <3
